HELP WITH PROJECTS School is in session and we are ready to work for you!! Project Assistance for Overworked Nonprofit Staff Members.. Just a reminder that for those nonprofits who need help with compiling annual campaign letters, putting together training packets, or any other big clerical job....there's help out there for you!
Students from the BOCES work experience program would like to assist local nonprofits with any collating, sorting, (repetitive task) projects that you might have. Students have strong support and supervision from seasoned teachers and would prefer to have projects that could be completed on campus. This work is done free of charge (however chocolate chip cookies are always an acceptable form of appreciation). So far the group has already assisted several nonprofits with rather large projects and have done an excellent, efficient job. The instructor for the class would like to keep up this tradition of service with her students and would also like to help lighten the load for over worked nonprofit staff members...a winning combination! If you have a project that you think might be good for the students, please contact Tina Sevola at BOCES at: 257-1555x247.

| Boy and Girl Scouting--Recruitment time!
The scouts are recruiting new members this fall. The structure of scouting can be very helpful to children on the spectrum, and some of the troops are known for being great with kids with disabilities. Watch for new membership meetings at the schools this fall and ask around for a troop that might best suit your child--it may not be the one closest to your home. Our son is at Ellis Hollow Troop 55, and there are a couple of boys on the spectum, and the Dad of one is a leader. This, together with patient, firm and good humored leadership by the men and the older boys has made it possible for our son to participate.
